Site work requires a special set of skills

It’s not hard to find a GC who will sign a contract and say that he can handle your site work, but, usually, that guy is just handing the work off to a handful of other subs, making his cut.

Finding a dedicated site contractor who only does site work – and who self-performs – is what makes M&N different.

M&N’s personnel have extensive experience participating in a variety of permitting, approval, and entitlement processes ranging from local jurisdictions, Departments of Environmental Quality, and the US Corps of Engineers Wetlands Division. Your design team will have the opportunity to copy M&N’s experienced staff directly on approval emails to ensure the quickest approval using the most efficient and effective design.

Concrete Curb and Gutter

M&N boasts a PowerCurber machine to produce thousands of feet of concrete curb and gutter on any site. Contrasted with hand-formed curb and gutter or, worse, no curb at all, machine-installed curb is perfect, uniform, strong, and beautiful. It is the only way to properly install curb and gutter.

Limestone Base and Soil Cement

A house is only as strong as its foundation, and roads, parking areas, and storage areas are only as strong as the soil prepped below them. We offer limestone base as well as highly compacted soil/aggregate mixtures to ensure that your top course of installation is installed on a well compacted and stabilized base. With an insufficient base, your expensive visible top course will crack, shift, and ultimately require expensive replacement. Our stabilization services minimize these costs.

Mass and Final Grading

M&N has its beginning in grading, and we move dirt. From clearing and grubbing to millimeter precision final grading, we own and personally operate the latest equipment to ensure that your site will satisfy even the most demanding local inspector. Having spent twenty years passing compaction tests and government inspections, our grading work is second to none.

Ductile Iron Water Mains

Ductile iron is a common requirement for municipal distribution and transmission as well as for industrial and power markets. M&N has installed thousands of feet of ductile iron and done so to the rigorous standards of many jurisdictions and governmental agencies. We provide purchasing power and installation skill making a daunting requirement into a simple turnkey solution.

SDR 26 PVC Sewer

SDR 26 PVC is the most common sewer piping, and it must meet specific stiffness and deflection standards to ensure the safe transmission of wastewater. SDR actually stands for “Standard Dimension Ratio,” and other common SDRs are 21 and 35. M&N warehouses a large quantity of SDR 26 and can safely and quickly install even the most complex PVC sewer system.

12" Boring

Most dirt and utility contractors rely on a separate vendor for boring, and the customer will feel this in the final cost and in scheduling. For this reason, M&N maintains its own fleet of equipment, including numerous boring options. This will keep you on schedule and under budget.

Temporary And Construction Access Roads

Construction begins and ends with access, and M&N builds and maintains its own temporary and construction access roads, including across the harshest terrain.

However, we are available to build any road, no matter how remote, for your needs. If it’s the part of a larger project, great, but, if you just need a road, we’re the ones to build

it.

Soil Preparation

Raw sites often contain a variety of hazards, both hidden and visible, which require addressing before you can build on the site. From demolition of existing structures to removing massive trees and their root systems to mitigating water flow concerns, we can prepare your soil for construction using a variety of techniques and equipment.

Erosion Control

Erosion control is probably the number one source of complaints against builders and developers. Local Departments of Environmental Quality as well as the US Corps of Engineers have a vested interest in ensuring that construction work doesn’t produce runoff that creates problems off site. We have installed maintained a wide variety of Stormwater and Pollution Prevention Plans, and, while we also turn the dirt, we make sure it doesn’t create more problems down the road.
